Hartley's Crocodile Adventures, where the origins of the crocodile farm go all the way back to 1935, when there was a humble tea house on the site opened a few years before, owned by an individual named Pop Evans. One day a headline announcing that a live crocodile had been caught in Cairns sparked Pop Evan’s imagination. He thought the reptile would make a fantastic tourist attraction and promptly bought him for the princely sum of three pounds. Said crocodile lived his life in captivity until his death from cancer in 2000 at the ripe old age of at least 65.

The site went through various crocodile-related names until it was bought by the Freeman family who had a background in wildlife tourism and who relocated it to its current site under the name Hartley's Crocodile Adventures. 

The park has gone from strength to strength over the years, with an increased focus on sustainability and conservation. There’s so much to do at this one venue, from breakfast with the koalas to feeding the cassowaries right to the famed “Crocodile Attack Show” which happens daily. A wide range of native Australian animals, reptiles and birds are exhibited at the park, which makes it a perfect opportunity for families, tourists and wildlife to see the best of Aussie wildlife.
